07/05/2006 : Chelsea Lose Final Game

Chelsea have lost their final game of the season to Newcastle Utd.
The only goal of the game came in the 73rd minute and was scored by
Titus Bramble.


02/05/2006 : Blackburn Win at Home

Blackburn have beaten the Premier League Champions, Chelsea,
at Ewood Park which will ensure them UEFA Cup football next season.
Chelsea fielded a second string side, resting a number of first team players.
The only goal was scored by Steven Reid in the 43rd minute.


29/04/2006 : Chelsea Crowned Champions

Chelsea are the Premier League Champions for a second year
in a row after beating title challengers Manchester Utd 3-0 at Stamford Bridge.
William Gallas started the scoring in the 5th minute with a header from a corner.
Joe Cole scored a superb solo goal in the 61st minute and Riccardo Carvalho
scored in the 73rd to make it 3-0 and ensure that the Premier League trophy
was staying at Stamford Bridge for another season.


22/04/2006 : Chelsea Lose Out in Semi

Chelsea have been knocked out in the semi final of the
FA Cup by Liverpool.
Liverpool took a an early lead with a free-kick by Riise and extended their
lead in the second half with a goal from Luis Garcia.
Chelsea made changes in the second half and Didier Drogba scored in the
70th minute. Chelsea constantly pressed for the equaliser but Liverpool
managed to hang on for the win and will now face West Ham in the final.


17/04/2006 : 1 More Point Needed

Chelsea need just 1 more point to become Premier League
Champions for the second season running.
Victories over Bolton and Everton during the Easter break have lead Chelsea
to a 9 point lead over Manchester Utd at the top of the Premier League.
With just three games to go, Chelsea can be crowned as Champions
by earning just one more point.


09/04/2006 : Victory Over West Ham

Chelsea pulled off a remarkable recover to beat London rivals
West Ham at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
West Ham took an early lead after just ten minutes. Chelsea midfielder
Maniche was then sent off seven minutes later. Chelsea however, played
like a team possessed and came back from behind to thump the Hammers
4-1 with goals from Drogba, Crespo, Terry and Gallas.


01/04/2006 : Only Seven Points

Chelsea's lead at the top of the Premier League has been cut
to just seven points after a disappointing draw against Birmingham City.
With Manchester Utd beating Bolton 2-1 the gap at the top is now only 7 points.


25/03/2006 : Chelsea Beat Man City

Chelsea have beaten Manchester City 2-0 in the Premiership.
Both goals came from Didier Drogba in the second half and bring Chelsea
one step closer to a successive Premiership title.


24/03/2006 : Chelsea to Meet Liverpool

Chelsea have been drawn against Liverpool in the semi final
of the
FA Cup.


22/03/2006 : Chelsea through to Semi Final

Chelsea have made it into the semi final of the FA Cup after
beating Newcastle Utd in the Quarter final stage.
A John Terry goal in the 4th minute was enough to see off the Newcastle
side who had Robbie Elliott sent off in the 90th minute.


20/03/2006 : Smertin Leaves

Chelsea midfielder Alexei Smertin has joined Russian team
Dynamo Moscow for a fee of £1m.
Smertin made 25 appearances for Chelsea and scored one goal.


19/03/2006 : Fulham Beat Chelsea

Fulham have managed a rare victory over London rivals Chelsea.
The only goal of the game was scored in the 17th minute by Boa Morte.
Didier Drogba managed to score the equaliser in the second half but
it was later ruled out for off side.
Chelsea pressed for the equaliser but Fulham held on for the win.
William Gallas' sending off in the 90th minute just made a bad day
even worse for manager Jose Mourinho.


11/03/2006 : Last Gasp Winner Against Spurs

William Gallas scored in the 90th minute to give Chelsea
the victory over Tottenham in the Premier League.
Michael Essien gave Chelsea the lead in the 14th minute with his
first goal for the club but Jermaine Jenas equalised on the stroke of half time.
It looked like ending with a point each but in the last minute of the game
Gallas rifled in a superb right foot shot that flew past a helpless Paul Robinson.


07/03/2006 : Chelsea out of Europe

Chelsea have slumped out of the Champions League after
only managing a draw against Barcelona in the second leg at the Nou Camp.
Ronaldinho scored to take the lead for Barcelona and Chelsea's only
The tie finished with Barcelona winning 3-2.


22/02/2006 : Barcelona Win at the Bridge

Barcelona have taken a 2-1 lead into the second leg
of the Champions league knockout phase.
Chelsea had Del Horno controversially sent off after 37 minutes for a
challenge on wonderkid Messi. Chelsea managed to take the lead
from an own goal by Motta but an own goal by John Terry and a
powerfull header by Eto'o sealed the win for Barca.
Chelsea will now travel to the Nou Camp with an uphill struggle.


20/02/2006 : FA Cup Draw

Chelsea have been drawn at home to Newcastle Utd
in the Quarter Finals of the FA Cup.
The match will be played during the week of the 20th March.


19/02/2006 : Chelsea Beat Battling Colchester

Chelsea have beaten Colchester Utd 3-1 in the FA Cup.
The League One team gave Chelsea a hard match and took
the lead after Carvalho sliced the ball into his own net after 27 minutes.
Paulo Ferreira equalised 10 minutes later and the match went in at 1-1
at half time. A poor first half performance saw Joe Cole and
Frank Lampard introduced for the second half and the difference
was apparent. Constant Chelsea pressure lead to us finally taking
the lead on 79 minutes and a second for Joe Cole in stoppage
time sealed the win.


11/02/2006 : Chelsea Thumped by Boro'

Chelsea have been thrashed 3-0 by Middlesborough.
The defeat is Chelsea's worst under Jose Mourinho.


08/02/2006 : Chelsea Through to 5th Round

Chelsea have made it through to the 5th round of the
FA Cup after beating Everton 4-1 in the 4th round replay at Stamford Bridge.
This means that Chelsea will now meet Colchester Utd in th 5th round.
The two sides have neber met in a competetive match.


30/01/2006 : FA Cup 5th Round Draw

Chelsea have been drawn at home to Colchester Utd in the
Fifth Round of the FA Cup.
The League One side will travel to Stamford Bridge on the weekend
of the 18th February so long as Chelsea can see off Everton in the
Fourth Round Replay.


28/01/2006 : Chelsea Earn Replay

Chelsea have earned a replay at Stamford Bridge in the fourth
round of the FA Cup by drawing 1-1 with Everton.
Frank Lampard scored the equaliser after Everton had taken the lead
through McFadden.

Chelsea will now face a trip to Goodison Park as Everton beat
Millwall in their FA Cup 3rd Round replay.


09/01/2006 : Chelsea 16 Points Clear

Chelsea have moved 16 points clear of second place Manchester
United after a club record 10th successive win, beating Sunderland 2-1.
Sunderland took the lead on 12 minutes but Crespo equalised shortly after.
Arjen Robben scored the winner on 69 but was subsequently sent off after
a second yellow card for his goal celebrations.

in the 4th round of the FA Cup.


07/01/2006 : Maniche on Loan at Chelsea

Chelsea have signed Portugese Midfielder Maniche on loan from

07/01/2006 : Chelsea Make it Through to 4th Round

Chelsea have narrowly beaten Huddersfield Town 2-1 in the third
round of the FA Cup. Carlton Cole opened the scoring with his first
goal of the season in the twelth minute but Huddersfield equalised after 75.
Eider Gudjonsen netted the winner for the Blues to send them through to
the fourth round.


02/01/2006 : Chelsea's First Win of 2006

Chelsea have beaten West Ham today to record their first win of the
new year. Goals from Frank Lampard, Hernan Crespo and Didier Drogba
ensured Chelsea a 3-1 victory over the Hammers.
Chelsea have now won 9 consecutive Premiership games.


18/12/2005 : Chelsea Beat Arsenal Again

Chelsea have beaten Arsenal for the second time this season.
Chelsea's victory at Highbury was the first time in Premiership history.

Chelsea will have a re-run of last years second round as we were drawn
against Barcelona again.


15/12/2005 : Essien Banned

Chelsea's Ghanaian International, Michael Essien, has been banned
for the next two UEFA competition matches for his tackle on Liverpool's
Dietmar Hamann during the final group match of the Champions League.
This means he will miss both legs of the next round.


04/12/2005 : FA Cup Draw

Chelsea have been drawn at home to Huddersfield Town in the
third round of the FA Cup.


23/11/2005 : Chelsea Through

Chelsea are through to the knockout stages of the Champions
League thanks to a 2-0 win over Anderlecht. Chelsea will join Liverpool

19/11/2005 : Chelsea Back to Form

Chelsea were back on form on Saturday as they beat Newcastle 3-0
at home with goals from Joe Cole, Hernan Crespo and Damien Duff.


06/11/2005 : Chelsea Lose

Chelsea's unbeaten run in the Premiership has ended.
Manchester Utd have beaten Chelsea and ended their run of 40 games without defeat.
The game ended with Man Utd winning with a goal from a looping header from Fletcher
in the first half.


27/10/2005 : Chelsea out of Cup

Chelsea have been dumped out of the Carling cup by London
rivals Charlton Athletic. Terry gave Chelsea the lead shortly before half time
but Marcus Bent levelled for Charlton just after the break. With no more goals
in the 90 minutes and all through extra time, it was down to penalties.
Charlton scored all 5 of their penalties but Robert Huth missed for Chelsea
to send Charlton through 5-4.


23/09/2005 : Carling Cup Draw

Current Cup holders Chelsea will play an all Premiership tie against Charlton
in the 3rd round of the Carling Cup.

Chelsea have bought Le Havre midfielder Lassana Diarra for an undisclosed amount.

Chelsea strikers Hernan Crespo and Carlton Cole have returned to Chelsea for the
season ahead. Chelsea's lack of transfer activity has led to the two strikers being

07/05/2005 : Chelsea Handed the Trophy

Chelsea were officially presented with the Premier League Trophy today at their last
home game of the season. Claude Makelele took a last minute penalty against Charlton.
The penalty was saved but Makelele put the ball in the net from the rebound to score
his first ever goal for Chelsea.


05/05/2005 : Lampard Player of the Year

Frank Lampard has been named the Football Writers' Player of the Year.
This completes a double scoop for Chelsea as John Terry was named the
PFA Player of the Year earlier last week.

Chelsea Manager Jose Mourinho has signed a new 5 year deal that will keep him at
Stamford Bridge until 2010, making him one of the highest paid managers in football.

This is the second season in a row that Chelsea have been knocked out at this stage.

Porto Coach Jose Mourinho has been named as Chelsea's new manager. The news was broken at a press conference this morning and at last puts an end to the constant speculation surrounding the position.


31/05/2004 : Ranieri Sacked as Chelsea Manager

Chelsea Manager Claudio Ranieri has been sacked today, ending season-long speculation about the manager's future.
Ranieri took over at Chelsea from fellow Italian Gianluca Vialli and after arguably Chelsea's best season so far has now been released by the club.
The new manager should be unveiled in the next 48 hours and is widely expected to be Porto manager Jose Mourinho.


18/05/2004 : Four Chelsea Players Named in England Squad for Euro 2004

Chelsea players, Frank Lampard, John Terry, Wayne Bridge and Joe Cole have been named in Sven Goran Eriksson's England Squad for Euro 2004 in Portugal.
Scott Parker was also named as an additional player who may be drafted in if there are any injuries to other squad members.


15/05/2004 : Premiership Season Ends

The Premiership Season is over. Chelsea have recorded their highest ever Premier League position of 2nd and automatically qualify for the Champions League next season.
Manchester Utd and Liverpool will have to play an extra qualifying round to reach the Champions League after finishing 3rd and 4th respectively.
Newcastle will enter in to the Uefa Cup after finishing 5th.

08/05/2004 : Chelsea Finish Second

Chelsea's draw at Old Trafford has assured them of second place in the Premiership. This is the highest position Chelsea have ever finished in, in the top flight.


05/05/2004 : Chelsea Crash Out Of Europe

Monaco have knocked Chelsea out of the Champions League. Chelsea needed to win by at least two clear goals in the second leg of the semi final against Monaco but could only manage a 2-2 draw.

Chelsea took a two goal lead in the first half with strikes from Jesper Gronkjaer and Frank Lampard but Monaco struck back just before half time.

Morientes made it 2-2 at the beginning of the second half and Chelsea seemed to concede the tie, knowing that they would need to score three goals in the last thirty minutes.

Monaco will now face FC Porto in the final, in Germany on 28th May

25/04/2004 : Arsenal Become Premier League Champions

Arsenal have won the Premiership today. After Chelsea lost at Newcastle earlier in the day, Arsenal only needed a draw away at Tottenham. The final score at White Hart Lane was 2-2 and Arsenal can no longer be caught by Chelsea.

Chelsea can now only hope to finish second above Manchester Utd to clinch an automatic Champions League place.


06/04/2004 : Chelsea Knock Arsenal Out of Champions League

Wayne Bridge scored a dramatic last gasp winner for Chelsea, to send Arsenal crashing out of the Champions League.

The tie was always going to be very close after a 1-1 draw in the first leg and Arsenal took the advantage just before half time in the second leg at Highbury when Reyes scored from close range.

Jesper Gronkjaer came on for Scott Parker at half time and Chelsea took control of the midfield.

A long range shot from Claude Makelele was spilled by the Arsenal keeper and Frank Lampard was the first to react, scoring, to make it 1-1 on the night.

As it was looking like the match was heading for extra time, a superb one touch pass from Eidur Gudjohnsen found Bridge inside the box and his cool finish sealed the win for Chelsea.

Chelsea will now face Monaco in the Semi-finals after they came from three goals behind to beat Real Madrid on the away goals rule.

12/03/2004 : Chelsea to Face Arsenal Again

Chelsea have been drawn against Arsenal in the Quarter Finals of the Champions League.

The first leg will be played at home at Stamford Bridge on 23rd or 24th March, with the return leg at Highbury two weeks later on 6th or 7th April.

If Chelsea manage to get past Arsenal, then they will face either Real Madrid or Monaco in the Semi-Finals.

03/03/2004 : Chelsea Sign Dutch Winger

Chelsea have snatched the signing of influential PSV Eindhoven winger Arjen Robben from under the noses of rivals Manchester Utd.

The 20 year old left-footed winger, who has scored in senior matches for both club and country, had been a long term target for Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson but Robben has decided to join Chelsea.

Chelsea have signed a pre-contract agreement with PSV, which will see Robben moving to Stamford Bridge in the summer for a fee of around £12 million.
